Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American sportscaster. She currently works as a sportscaster for ESPN, working as anchor for SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. Her first job at ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from age nine. Her skill was instrumental in securing her first post as a production assistant for Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she worked with the producers of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then she was promoted to a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. Her move to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. Reports on her show covered immigration issues, drug trafficking, and other issues on both the Texas as well as the Mexico border. The summer in 2006 she took one week with her sibling at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed at the time. Antonietta was a senior in high school with an idea of what she wanted her future to be like, visited Mount Union University in order to find out whether the university was suitable for her. In the end, she loved the campus and the university offered the kind of program she was searching for. She graduated from school and was attended the University as an undergraduate major in media studies. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the manager at WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was a member. He inspired her to be self-confident and his passion for journalism deeply affected her, and she determined to fulfill his expectations and never let him down.
